Sale! The word gives me butterflies in my stomach. I'm such a bargain lover, and few things excite me more than finding something amazing at a great price.
It previously used to be mainly shoes, clothes and bags on my bargain radar, and even though I did buy those awesome boots from Rag & Bone just now, these days the interior sales are the ones I covet. I got a whole apartment to fill, what a dream!
The key is to know your future bargains and to have seen the items in store before they go on sale. Then you can just sit at home with a cup of tea and just press "buy" as soon as your favourites get reduced. No queues, sharp elbows or hassle, only you and your laptop.
Another clever idea is to buy gifts during sale season. I write a list of all birthdays, parties and other special occasions within the next few months, heck I'll even buy stuff for Christmas. Why pay the full price later when I can have it much cheaper now? It also removes the stress and pressure of finding the perfect gifts right before the occasion.
And isn't that feeling of buying that item you have had your eye on for a while, but thought was a bit too expensive, lovely? I feel especially good if I know I have got a good deal, like when a design classic gets reduced, what a rush! My accountant might not see it as saving, but almost...
