PH 4½-4 Glass Pendant light, chrome plated/opal

PH 4 1 / 2-4 pendant from Louis Poulsen belongs to the PH family whose principle was developed during a few winter months in 1925-26 for a large exhibition hall in Copenhagen. ''The real innovation in the PH lamp is that it produces lighting that is both blunt and economical.'' The luminaire has been designed based on the principle of a reflective wood-screen system that directs most of the light downward. The screens are made of mouth-blown, opalizing glass in three layers that provide a soft and diffuse light.
