The Crackle lantern from Kosta Boda is part of the iconic Crackle series - named a masterpiece by the Red Dot Design Award jury. The characteristic crackled surface is created through a classic glass technique where hot glass is quickly cooled in ice-cold water, giving a vibrant and expressive result.

The lantern is made in Kosta Boda's own glassworks from circular glass. Since recycled mixed glass is used, the colour tone varies naturally between different castings - from clear to darker shades. This gives each piece its own colour DNA, making each lantern completely unique. When the candle is lit, the crackle pattern is emphasised, creating a warm, atmospheric glow.
