Over het merk
String werd opgericht in 1949 en heeft sindsdien iconische designmeubelen gecreëerd met hoge kwaliteit, tijdloosheid en functionaliteit als sleutelwoorden. Het idee voor het geliefde rekkensysteem van Nisse en Kajsa Strinning werd geboren toen de openbare bibliotheek van Bonnier een ontwerpwedstrijd organiseerde waarin deelnemers werd gevraagd een boekenkast te ontwerpen die gemakkelijk te monteren, gemakkelijk te verzenden en toch betaalbaar zou zijn.
