We have become aware of a potential safety risk concerning the Paris Oil Lamp from Department. The product does not meet the safety requirements for decorative oil lamps under the European standard EN 14059.

The product has been tested by an accredited laboratory and the following issues have been identified:

• The lamp is not sufficiently stable and may tip over. This could cause lamp oil to leak, which in the worst case could result in a fire.

• The lamp does not have a wick guard, meaning that the wick is accessible to small children.

• The filling cap does not require two independent movements to open, increasing the risk of it being opened accidentally.

• The lamp may leak oil when positioned in any orientation other than upright.

Lamp oil is dangerous if swallowed. Even a small amount can cause serious harm, particularly to children. Do not suck the wick and always keep the product out of reach of children.

The test conditions do not take into account the recommended handling of the product. If you have used the lamp in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, you may therefore choose to keep and continue using it. If you do so, please pay particular attention to the issues described above.

The product must not be resold or given away.

If you wish to keep the lamp

If you have used the lamp in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and wish to keep it, you do not need to contact us or take any further action. However, we ask that you continue to be aware of the issues described above.

If you wish to return the lamp

If you do not wish to keep the lamp, we will of course offer a free return and a full refund.

Please include your order number in the email if possible.

Once we have registered your case, we will send you a return label together with all the information you need to return the lamp. As soon as we have received your return, we will process your refund.
