Hippo by Kay Bojesen with a classic design with a playful feel. With its open mouth and whimsical expression, the hippo is a character you love at first sight. It's easy to see why Kay Bojesen was inspired by this original character when he created his famous and beloved hippo in 1955. Unlike most of Kay Bojesen's other wooden figures, which are usually seen in soft and round shapes, the hippo has a more angular design with predominantly straight lines - yet it shines with a big and loving smile, vigour and a twinkle in its eye.
The hippo communicates care and harmony, almost as if saying: "Trust me, I always have your back." Kay Bojesen himself had a grey hippo on his desk, and the 70th birthday is celebrated with two anniversary editions in beech wood painted in an exclusive grey colour, with the mouth painted pink.
