The shawl feels warm and the first impression of the purchase is good. There is no smell mentioned by some. There are quite strong folds left in the felt from packaging and I have tried to smooth them out by spraying water and rubbing the surface of the felt flat (with poor results). Some hair stuck to my hand, so it probably comes off with use. This cannot be machine washed.
