Äng, which means meadow in Swedish, from Swedish Klong quickly became a modern classic. The beautiful vases give the opportunity to arrange flowers in a new way thanks to the simple but smart design that allows spectacular flower arrangements. Even the simplest bouquets look elegant in an Äng vase. According to Eva Schildt, who designed Äng, each flower needs two support points to stand and she had that in mind when she designed the vase with the double brass mesh.
The vase is made of mouth-blown glass with handmade inserts. Äng is available in different sizes.
Äng Vase Large is the medium variant in the Äng family and just like the other models, this is a unique glass vase that has won the award for best interior accessories by Elle Decoration 2014 and has become a modern design classic. The holes of the insert vary in shape and size and, like on a meadow, the cut flowers fall naturally in place. The vase becomes as beautiful embellishment either filled with colourful flowers or single twigs.
Eva Schildt is the designer who likes to combine tradition with a small amount of modernity - "a respectful provocation" according to herself. She has designed everything from furniture and household appliances to interior decoration and jewelry.
Replace water and wipe the brass regularly. The brass has been varnished to be water resistant, but remember to wipe away any sap residue from the brass surface. If this is not done regularly, it may become discoloured. Both the glass and brass insert are handmade, each vase is unique. Which also contributes to the organic impression. For this reason, small variations in appearance may occur.
